The most difficult experiences I’ve had as an individual are when I receive critiques that are too personal, vague or dismissive.  In essence, I want to develop critiques that are constructive, specific and give learning experiences at the center of it all.  Critiques should be viewed as a collaborative exploration and not an evaluation of value.  I want to give an opportunity for others to articulate their decisions without humiliation.  Give others an opportunity to build their own brand of resilience from reflective learning.

Inclusive practice is an important aspect for successful graphic design.  I want to ensure that examples represent different cultures, perspectives and histories.  I would like to see that project prompts allow for multiple conceptual approaches.  Everyone has a different perspective when it comes to skills for prototyping, storytelling and experimentation.  Accessibility and ethics to me are not afterthoughts, but 

core design values.

In design, there is often rejection and revision.  It isn’t about the perfect design, but rather the process in which one reaches their own result.  I would like to see others develop their design with intent behind it.  For them to be able to identify the “why” in their choices, even when their back may be against the wall.  Then there is the viewpoint to turn what may be viewed as constraints into opportunities.
